If I Should Die Teaser!

I know I've been a lame moderator lately but I'm here to change that. If you've been following Amy on Twitter (@AmyPlumOhLaLa), Facebook (AmyPlumFanPage) and her Blog you probably joined the very first ARC Contest she did a few days ago and with that contest being held we have ARCs (Advance Readers Copies) which means we get to hear more from readers of what they think of the final installment. While I didn't get to participate on the said contest some Die For Me Fans enthusiastically did the challenge. You can visit Amy's Blog to view the entries but all I can say is that you guys are amazing! I couldn't be more proud to be a fan.

I'm here to post some If I Should Die Teasers from our fellow readers who's already reading the ARCs

Here's what Lily has to say about the book...

Lily is on page 10 of 416
Reaction after chapter one: WHAT?! That did not just happen.

Lily is on page 28 of 416
Reaction after first 3 chapters:Cool that we get some more information that quickly.
Add her on Goodreads

After reading that all I can say is that we're in for a ride! I really can't wait for this book!

Amy Plum blurbs Broken

"Death, kissing, and a smoking hot mystery boy in a hoodie: what more could you ask for?"

Amy Plum, internationally bestselling author of the DIE FOR ME trilogy

Broken by A.E. Rought; an upcoming 2013 release is gaining more attention and reading Amy Plum's blurb on this makes me really excited to read this! We all know that Amy is just a fantastic writer and I trust her word that this book is equally good as well! A smoking hot mystery boy in a hoodie? I think I'm sold!
Broken is due January 8th 2013 published by Strange Chemistry

Now if I could only get my hands on this book before January?

Broken by A.E. Rought

Synopsis

Imagine a modern spin on Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein where a young couple’s undying love and the grief of a father pushed beyond sanity could spell the destruction of them all.

A string of suspicious deaths near a small Michigan town ends with a fall that claims the life of Emma Gentry's boyfriend, Daniel. Emma is broken, a hollow shell mechanically moving through her days. She and Daniel had been made for each other, complete only when they were together. Now she restlessly wanders the town in the late Fall gloom, haunting the cemetery and its white-marbled tombs, feeling Daniel everywhere, his spectre in the moonlight and the fog.

When she encounters newcomer Alex Franks, only son of a renowned widowed surgeon, she's intrigued despite herself. He's an enigma, melting into shadows, preferring to keep to himself. But he is as drawn to her as she is to him. He is strangely... familiar. From the way he knows how to open her locker when it sticks, to the nickname she shared only with Daniel, even his hazel eyes with brown flecks are just like Daniel's.

The closer they become, though, the more something inside her screams there's something very wrong with Alex Franks. And when Emma stumbles across a grotesque and terrifying menagerie of mangled but living animals within the walls of the Franks' estate, creatures she surely knows must have died from their injuries, she knows

Die For Me
by Amy Plum

Synopsis

In the City of Lights, two star-crossed lovers battle a fate that is destined to tear them apart again and again for eternity.

When Kate Mercier's parents die in a tragic car accident, she leaves her life--and memories--behind to live with her grandparents in Paris. For Kate, the only way to survive her pain is escaping into the world of books and Parisian art. Until she meets Vincent.

Mysterious, charming, and devastatingly handsome, Vincent threatens to melt the ice around Kate's guarded heart with just his smile. As she begins to fall in love with Vincent, Kate discovers that he's a revenant--an undead being whose fate forces him to sacrifice himself over and over again to save the lives of others. Vincent and those like him are bound in a centuries-old war against a group of evil revenants who exist only to murder and betray. Kate soon realizes that if she follows her heart, she may never be safe again.

Until I Die
by Amy Plum

Although Vincent promises that he’ll do whatever it takes to lead a normal life with Kate, will that mean letting innocent people die? When a new and surprising enemy reveals itself, Kate realizes that even more may be at stake—and that Vincent’s immortality is in jeopardy.

Amy Plum Writing An Adult Book

Yes, you heard it right! Amy Plum author of the International Best Selling Series Die For Me is in fact writing an "Adult Book". July 17th when Amy tweeted this

I got a bit curious and asked her if it's a new book. She tweeted me back confirming it.

The inner fan got the best of me and asked a little bit more... I asked if the book has a title already. She answered me with...

Are you excited yet? Will you be reading Amy's Adult Book?

If you haven't read it yet, here's Vincent's POV at the beginning of Until I Die
Kate. She is mine. But she is completely her own. That is one of the things that draws me to her like an insect flitting perilously close to that oh-so-mesmerizing but lethal flame: Kate doesn’t need me. She protects herself against me. She doesn’t want to be consumed, like I am in her.

Kate is everything to me...more important than my own existence. I am obsessed. And not only because I saved her life. Being fixated on the future of one's human rescues is natural for a revenant. But we take steps to avoid that trap. It's dangerous. It's against our code. But in this case it just doesn’t seem wrong.

My kindred might not agree with me, but they wouldn’t dare speak it. My mind is made up. My heart given away. And my body waiting for her to take possession of it.

Although she has agreed to be with me, her promise is contingent on a vow I made—one we both wonder if I can keep. She never speaks about it, but once in a while her eyes flicker to me uncertainly and I know what she is wondering. Can I do it? Can I resist dying, at the cost of my physical comfort and mental stability?

For me it is not a question. It is a requirement. I must find a way to resist death’s powerful enticement. I will not fail. Not only for my own selfish need to have Kate by my side. But for her. I can not hurt her. She has been hurt enough. She deserves a stable life, full of love. And I’ll be damned if I can’t give it to her.

She’s so young. She’s barely seen life. And I can’t help wanting to be the one to show it to her. To see her reactions to each new experience. To see the world through her eyes.

She makes me feel human again. She makes me feel alive, after I was sure that the heart beating in my undead chest had gone completely and permanently numb. She is worth every second of agony that will inevitably come. Because without her, I am a dead man walking.

Revenants Update

I've been such a lame moderator lately and totally suck in updating this blog. Today I bring you the latest updates on Amy Plum. As we all know she was traveling for her Revenant Road Trip Book Tour. If you haven't read it Carli made a Guest Post about Amy's signing at Book of Wonder.

She's been really busy, if you follow her on her Twitter (@AmyPlumOhLaLa) or her Facebook (Amy Plum) you should have read her updates! But there is one thing I'm totally excited about is because of this news

Imagine me like this...

Totally flipping over the news! I cannot wait in anticipation for this book... after the ending of Until I Die? I just need to read the next. If you still haven't read Until I Die you better do it soon! Vincent </3

On finishing the trilogy Amy has a little surprise for us, she posted a cut scene from Until I Die,  here's a snippet from the scene:

I looked directly up into a pair of pale grey eyes. Sneering lips parted to show nicotine-stained teeth, which clenched as the enormous man grabbed me by the shoulders and threw me over his shoulder as easily as if I were a rag doll.
“You’re ours now, little girlie,” he said, as he joined two men who waited under a nearby tree. The three men practically oozed evil. There was only one thing they could be. Rising bile stung my throat as I realized that I was being carried off by a band of numa.
If you want to read the whole cut scene READ IT HERE

If you are in Paris on June 26 - Amy is doing a reading in French at l’Antre Monde from 6-8 Details here

If you miss the tour of Amy doing a tour at La Sainte-Chapelle, where the revenant wedding took place in UNTIL I DIE here's the vLog Amy did for Jean Book Nerd.

And YES I've been wanting to post this picture from the Mystic Falls 2 Event

If you don't know these guys together with Amy (which I doubt), it's Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder *fan self* also known as Stefan Salvatore and Damon Salvatore of The Vampire Diaries, holding Until I Die and Die For Me! If you want to know more about this picture and Amy's experience with the Vampires READ IT HERE

Guest Post: Until I Die, Macarons, and Manhattan (A UID Launch Party Post)

First, all Revenant-fans, sorry about the delayed blog post! I haven't had much free time recently to post, so you're getting my "straight from the front of the bookstore line" report over a week late.

Leaving the office a little bit early last Tuesday, I decided not to risk having to deal with bus or train schedules and instead drove straight into NYC. Parking cost me my firstborn child and my left arm (OUCH!), but it was worth knowing that I would make it to the signing on time (and would make it back out of the city at a decent hour... thanks, NJ Transit, for sparse return schedules.)

If you can ever make it into New York City for a booksigning-- do it! It's an incredible experience, especially at a bookstore like
Books of Wonder. Imagine a bookstore devoted entirely to kidlit, cozy and wonderful with a cafe that sells amazing goodies. Now, add: a table full of macarons*, orangina, and French chocolates; a bunch of authors (signing and in the audience, too); at least one editor and agent; and a group of fans that were dressed so city-cool that they made little suburban me look schlumpy… and you get Amy’s launch party.

Oh, and add a beret. Amy had a beret on the table!

Signing with Amy were Jocelyn Davies (A Beautiful Dark) and Kristi Cook (Haven):
Our three authors! Sorry about the quality of the pics-- my camera died
and I had to wing it with my cell phone! That means no macaron pics :(
(Ahem—quick aside: Do you see how awesome they all look? Someone needs to tell me how YA authors do that—outside, it was drizzling and humid and miserable, but Amy, Jocelyn, and Kristi looked GREAT. Jocelyn’s curls were epically awesome. The aura of pure talent must repel humidity. I, on the other hand, put a hat over my head to contain the frizzzzzzzz)

Like I said above, there were some amazing people in the crowd, from Amy’s agent, Stacy Glick, to Michele Jaffe (Bad Kitty!) and Natalie Zaman (Sirenz! Amy introduced us before the event started and I’m so happy that she did. Natalie, a fellow knitter and New Jerseyan talked up a storm!) I had seen Amy’s editor, Tara Weikum when I walked into the bookstore, but was too embarrassed to say hi because the last time I met her… I kind-of fangirled for a minute or two (or maybe more…) about how much I loved Die For Me *facepalm.*

And there were some amazing fans, too! Check out the t-shirts in the pics!

The original picture...
... cropped so that you can see the awesome t-shirts and (my fave part of this picture...) someone
taking a picture of Amy!
To kick off the launch party, Amy introduced herself, Jocelyn, and Kristi, and dove into a quick description of the Revenants series for anyone in the crowd who were new to the books. She gave us this history of how she came up with the Revenants and then read aloud from the graveyard scene in Until I Die. After reading, she passed the microphone to Jocelyn, who read from A Beautiful Dark and then Kristi, who gave some great background on her books because she was still getting over a cold and didn’t have enough of a voice to read aloud.

Amy reading from the graveyard scene!

Jocelyn, reading from A Beautiful Dark
And Kristi talking about Haven
The ladies then took questions from the audience, including a great question about if they set out to write for teens when they start their books. Amy writes for herself, but when she wrote Kate, she also wanted to create a strong heroine for her daughter to read about when she gets older.

And Amy let us know her great news about a new YA novel that’s next on her list after DFM3: a novel about an Alaskan girl! *happy dance* If anyone has the skill to make places come to life on a page, that’s Amy.

Then… we queued up for the signing part of the launch party (and, luckily, the line snaked right by the macarons and chocolate. YUM!) While on line, I chatted with this sweet lady who was from out of town and had decided to come to the booksigning to pick up a unique souvenir for her teenage daughter! She hadn’t read any of the books but still had a lot of fun at the signing. I’m sorry that I didn’t catch her name or contact info (if you’re out there and read this: *waves* Hi!!!!)

While she was signing my copy of Haven, I had a quick chat with Kristi, who is so much fun to talk to (and her daughters have the best hair ever. I wish my mom was that cool when I was young.)

Jocelyn was also nice and I wish I had more time to speak with her!

And, of course, Amy was wonderful, taking the time to chat with everyone and handing us all rhinestone-d Eiffel tower bookmarks after signing our books (or, in my case, Nooks!) A few pictures and a hug later, the signing was over and I was back on my way through the Lincoln Tunnel, a big green Books of Wonder bag safely tucked into the passenger seat of my car.

My haul!! My favorite part of this picture is that my camera caught the rainbow foiling on A Beautiful Dark!!!!

Thank you, Amy, for launching Until I Die in NYC! (and for all of you reading this who still haven’t read UID… what are you waiting for?!?!? Kate totally kicks butt, Vincent and Jules are even more swoonworthy, and Ambrose is even more flirt-a-licious in this book!)

*The macarons were mouth-wateringly delicious and come from Mille-Feuille bakery in NYC, right by Books of Wonder. A: Mille-Feuille should make a Revenants-inspired macaron for all of the advertising that we’ve been giving them as we swoon online about the macarons and B. They have a macaron workshop!!!! Great date idea, boys/girls who are reading this only to find out how to impress the Revenant fan in your life. (link: http://www.millefeuille-nyc.com/ )

Thank you very much Carli for this wonderful Guest Post ♥

What do you think of Until I Die? + Link List

Until I Die by Amy Plum is already out in bookstores Worldwide! Have you got your copy already? Share us your thoughts.

Today I want to share you an unsolicited review of Until I Die by Canada. He/She left me comment on my personal blog about his/her thoughts about the book. It was too amazing not to share it with you so I'm posting it here.

Canada's Review of Until I Die

"In Die For Me I immediately fell in love with Amy's characters, their unique history and the beautiful setting, Paris. With Until I Die, I was pleasantly surprised with how Amy was able to take those things and build upon them even more. She created characters that grew stronger, she allowed her secondary characters to shine more in this book and she allowed me to see how they all interact together given the situations that arose in this plot line. One of those characters is Kate's sister, Georgia. I loved her in this book, and I've enjoyed seeing how Kate and Georgia have become closer as the series has progressed. Amy changes things up a bit with her introductions of the two new characters who add a mix of uncertainty, old school Revenants flare, and a bit of intrigue to an already out standing cast of characters. They definitely put me on a guard a bit, but Amy does a wonderful job at weaving them into this series.

The romance in this series is one of my favorites! I felt the Paris setting, and the Revenant history only intensified it a bit more in this book. What I loved about the romance between Kate and Vincent in Die For Me was amped up considerably in Until I Die. Their passion, their commitment and devotion for one another is so sigh worthy. I felt like their emotions leapt off the pages." credits

Did you have the same feeling as Canada did? I sure did! Tell us what you of Until I Die, link us your review so we could check it out! Who knows you might be featured next! ;)
